Our books are in Egyptian Arabic dialect! We chose to write in the spoken language because we know the benefits of reading to young children in their mother-tongue, which is the language our kids acquire naturally from their surrounding environment. We also chose to write our story books in rhymes because they are fun; and research has shown that rhymes develop young children's phonological awareness and pre-literacy skills.
